Kevin Gandy.

Live production director

I’m Kevin Gandy, a director with experience in sports broadcasting, church production and television at TBN. I also operate cameras and switch productions on Grass Valley Kayenne switchers.

Live production is my focus. I also develop practical tools with AI, using my production experience to guide the ideas, features and interface.

Watch first.

Eleven minutes of camera work across live and produced environments: ENG rigs, gimbals, Steadicam-style systems, mirrorless, and studio positions.

Also on air: a televised commercial.

One of two 30-second Experience First spots I produced at First Roanoke, both publicly televised in 2022.

Selected work

A selection of my production work and the tools I’m developing around it.

The AI playground.

I put together the AI playground so you can interact with the tools I’m working on and try them for yourself.

The demos offer a closer look at the workflows behind these projects. I come up with the ideas, shape the features and interface, and test how useful the tools are in practice. AI builds, refines and brainstorms with me.

  1. Plan PreCue

A real shoot plan you can work in: a song chart, its reference clip, and notes anchored to the line and timecode they belong to.

  2. Book PARM

A hands-on preview of the asset library, calendar views, and production dashboard.

  3. Air LiveStack Studio

A simulated master control walkthrough using canned audio and sample B-roll data: script follower, ad hub, playback ops, and graphics ops.

  4. Build Agent Journal

A guided walkthrough of the shared context notebook the agents write into while the other three get built.

Production approach

Work across roles.

Experience on camera and in the control room helps me troubleshoot and explain what I need from the crew.

Keep direction clear.

I stay calm, make quick decisions and treat people respectfully when a show gets stressful.

Test the workflow.

I test the execution, flow and usefulness of a tool as it develops.

The route here.
